Southeast Missouri Hospital's Dennis B. Elrod, M.D., Obstetrics and Gynecology Center will host its 13th annual Maternal-Newborn Symposium Sept. 11 at the University Center at Southeast Missouri State University.

The event will feature a variety of presentations of interest to physicians, nurses and health professionals whose medical focus is pregnancy, childbirth and neonatal period.

Keynote speakers are Dr. Tim Miller, director of the Newborn and High-Risk Nurseries at Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria, and Dr. Shiraz Sunderji of St. Louis, a perinatologist at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur and associate clinical professor with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Louis University School of Medicine.

A number of Cape Girardeau physicians will serve as faculty for concurrent sessions throughout the day.

The fee is $50 for physicians and $40 for nurses. It includes lunch. For additional information contact Linda Logan at 651-5833.
