The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Kenneth E. Simpson, 21, was traveling northbound on Route O eight miles southwest of Patton when he lost control of his 2005 Honda. The vehicle then overturned several times, ejecting Simpson.

He was taken by arch helicopter to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Simpson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, the highway patrol said.
