PADUCAH, Ky. -- Paducah's Market House Theatre will hold open auditions for "Nicollo and Nicolette" at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the theater.
The play tells the story of a lovable peddler (Seamus O'Shaughnessy) who discovers a life-size puppet (Nicollo) that suddenly comes to life in a toy shop owned by Nicolette. The puppet reveals that he is a prince enchanted by a magician who has stolen his castle.
Nicollo, Nicolette and Seamus embark on a thrilling journey to break the spell, and along the way meet an irritable Leprechaun, the pompous Duchess of Umbrage and various other colorful characters. The play is a fantasy told with humor and warmth for all ages.
April Cochran will direct.
Two companies totalling 24 children and adults are needed. No previous performing experience is necessary, and newcomers are encouraged to audition.
Persons auditioning for the first time at the Market House are welcome to watch the first night's auditions and audition for the show on the second night.
