NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Money marked with red ink surfaced in several transactions during the weekend, and New Madrid County law enforcement authorities caution people it could be linked to Friday's robbery of the Bank of New Madrid's Lilbourn, Mo., facility.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens said about $4,600 of the $5,800 taken during the robbery has been recovered. During the weekend several bills were recovered in area towns.

"If they receive money of any denomination marked with red ink stains, it possibly came out of the bank robbery," said Stevens. "They should contact the sheriff's department or the local FBI."

Two people were charged with armed robbery and armed criminal action through the New Madrid County prosecuting attorney's office.

Hosea Williams, 25, of Howardville, Mo., and Myron Tillman, 23, of Lilbourn were being held in the New Madrid County Jail.
