The memory of Marine Capt. Dan McCollum has been honored many times over.
McCollum, 28, the son-in-law of Bill and Jenny Harkey of Cape Girardeau, died in a Jan. 9 plane crash in Pakistan. He was married to Jenny Harkey and was a native of Irmo, S.C.

The Charleston (S.C.) RiverDogs minor league baseball team has asked for a moment of silence for him before the season opener.
Clemson University, his alma mater, is planting a tree.
Arlington National Cemetery has set aside a place to honor him and the six others who died together in Pakistan.
Veterans in Pickens, S.C., have invited the family to an April 16 ceremony.
On April 26, the Irmo High School ROTC will hold a banquet to give out the first Daniel McCollum scholarship.
