KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- College basketball fans in Kansas City for tournaments last month helped boost riverboat casinos' revenue to the second-highest March ever -- almost $65 million.

That mark is just shy of the nearly $67 million take in March 2007, especially impressive because Leap Year meant what would otherwise have been a busy Friday, March 1, was Feb. 29.

But one casino manager suggests that the March bounce may not be as great as it seems.

Argosy Casino Hotel and Spa General Manager Tom Burke noted that there was no Big 12 tournament in Kansas City last year, unlike the 2008 tourney at the city's new Sprint Center.

In all 72 basketball teams in four collegiate tournaments visited Kansas City over 17 days, helping area casinos rake in $64.9 million -- well over $2 million a day.
