MARBLE HILL -- A Marble Hill woman was injured Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction accident in Marble Hill.
A spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said Marlene Toombs, 23, was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with moderate injuries following the accident.
A spokesperson for the hospital said the woman was treated and released.
The Highway Patrol said Toombs had slowed her 1985 Chevrolet pickup for traffic, when she was struck in the rear by a 1981 Pontiac LeMans, driven by Steven Martin, 17, of Marble Hill.
Toombs vehicle was then forced into the rear of a 1983 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Agnes Seabaugh, 43, also of Marble Hill.
The accident occurred at 4:05 p.m. while the three vehicles were eastbound on Highway 34 in Marble Hill. Toombs was the only person injured, the highway patrol reported.
