MARBLE HILL -- The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Marble Hill man.
Andrew McClard, 18, was found at approximately noon Tuesday in a ditch along Missouri Highway 34. Highway Patrol investigators believe the accident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. Monday. McClard's vehicle overturned and was not visible from the roadway.
McClard was transported by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where he died.
McClard was last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday in Marble Hill on his way to his residence, said the patrol. His vehicle was found about a mile from his home, approximately 2.5 miles west of the Cape Girardeau-Bollinger County line.
According to investigators, McClard's vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, and McClard over-corrected. The vehicle then traveled across the roadway and ran off into a ditch on the opposite side of the road.
The time of the accident has not been firmly established, investigators said.
