Many mums at Southeast

Daniel Bollinger removes an aqua turret used as part of the irrigation system to keep chrysanthemums hydrated Monday at Southeast Missouri State University's Charles Hutson Horticulture Greenhouse.

The student-run greenhouse has 186 varieties of mums for sale to the public and 105 varieties the students are growing in trial runs. Mums are blooming late this year to to unseasonably hot temperatures.

The greenhouse is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Call (573) 615-2316 for more information.
