A Charleston, Mo., teenager Cape Girardeau police believe was present at the scene of the June 26 killing of Matthew "Woody" Ervin is waiting to be extradited to Missouri from Dekalb County, Ga.
Armster Robinson III was charged in Georgia Oct. 22 with felony possession of marijuana. According to a court clerk in Dekalb County, a judge reduced Robinson's charge to a misdemeanor. At a Dec. 3 hearing, Robinson signed a waiver of extradition to Missouri.
Cape Girardeau County assistant prosecuting attorney Angel Woodruff said she was aware of the waiver and that Robinson would be coming back to face charges here. Woodruff didn't say when Robinson would be brought to Missouri or what the charges would be.
Thomas D. Evans Jr., 20, of Bellwood, Ill., the defendant currently charged with murder in the case, was allegedly with Robinson when he sold cocaine to Ervin at a Cape Girardeau convenience store. Court documents allege Evans and Robinson then rode with Ervin to the area of Park Drive, where police later found him lying dead in the street. He was shot once in the head and once in the torso.
Evans is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
