A man wanted in connection with a Scott City burglary has been arrested in St. Francois County.
Shawn Kinsey was arrested Thursday and charged with burglary, robbery, assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a firearm, property damage and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to a Scott City Police Department news release.
He is being held in St. Francois County on a $15,000 cash-only bond.
Kinsey allegedly took part in a burglary and robbery May 27 at 712 Third St. East in Scott City. The victim awoke to discover a man authorities believe was Kinsey in his home, and a struggle ensued. The victim was allegedly assaulted with a firearm that was in the home and received several bruises on his face during the struggle.
Kinsey fled the scene and had been on the run since that time, police said.
A second subject was involved and later arrested.
