An Illinois man waived his preliminary hearing in Alexander County circuit court Tuesday before Circuit Judge William J. Thurston.

David D. Hull, 45, of Thebes, Ill., is charged with two felony counts of driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and two felony counts of aggravated driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The charges reflect two previous convictions, said Alexander County State's Attorney Jeffrey Farris. If convicted on all counts, Hull could spend up to 16 years in prison.

Hull's next court date is 10 a.m. Jan. 19.
