ST. LOUIS — A man has been extradited from an Illinois prison to St. Louis to face murder charges filed more than a year ago.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported 20-year-old Tony Ross of East St. Louis, Illinois, was charged in April 2015 with second-degree murder in the death of Bobby Christman. The Southeast Missouri State University student was killed in January 2015 as he sat in a parked car with his brother and girlfriend in St. Louis. Police said the shooting was part of a botched carjacking.

Ross was brought to St. Louis on July 29 and arraigned Monday. He was serving time in an Illinois prison after pleading guilty to possession of a stolen vehicle in St. Clair County, Illinois, in April.
