ORAN, Mo. -- Police are investigating the stabbing of an Oran man early Thursday in Scott County.
Oran police chief Gregg Ourth said police responded to a home on Rose Street about 3:30 a.m.
"We found an approximately 35-year-old white male suffering from two apparent stab wounds to his upper back," Ourth said.
The man immediately was airlifted to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Ourth said.
"It began as a domestic dispute sometime during the night and went unreported until (the) time of the stabbing incident," he said.
The man's wife and two small children were also at the residence. No one is in custody, and online court records showed no charges Thursday.
"It is an ongoing investigation, which I'll be pursuing throughout the day," Ourth said.
Calls from the Southeast Missourian to Oran police were not returned by press time.
