A victim was shot in his calf, and was treated and released from a hospital following a shooting in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place at the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Hanover Street during a robbery attempt, police said.
Cape Girardeau Police Department public information officer Darin Hickey said at about 12:30 p.m., the victim reported he was in the B & H Convenience store when he was approached by two people wanting to purchase electronic equipment from him.
An argument began, and one suspect grabbed the victim and the other wielded a hand gun, the victim reported. He fled the scene before the suspects took the electronics from him, and he heard two shots fired, the victim reported.
The victim suffered a wound on one calf where a bullet entered and exited, and a mark on the other calf where he was grazed with a different bullet, Hickey said. The injuries were not life-threatening, he said.
The two suspects fled and were not arrested, Hickey said.
Hickey said both suspects are men, one in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall with a stocky build, and the other in his late teens or early 20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin build and short hair.
