Two encounters with a prostitute left a Cape Girardeau man with less money than he thought he should have, so he reported a theft to police.
Now he faces possible charges for soliciting prostitution, Cpl. Kevin Orr said.
"The officer who took the report from him made it very clear what he was doing to himself," Orr said.
The man told police that at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, three women came to his apartment. He said he knew two of the three women.
When an offer of sexual intercourse in exchange for $20 was made, he accepted, police said. Two of the women left, he had sex with the third, paid her, and she left.
Within less than a half hour, the three women returned, the man said. This time one offered oral sex. The man accepted, police said.
After oral sex, the woman left quickly. Then the man discovered that $55 had been taken from his pocket.
On Friday, police were seeking a warrant to arrest one of the three women for prostitution.
It is possible that another warrant will be issued to arrest the man for soliciting prostitution, Orr said.
As for the $55, allegations of theft are under investigation, police said.
