POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- A Poplar Bluff man is in satisfactory condition at a Memphis, Tenn., hospital following a weekend accident that cost him his left arm.
Dallas Scott, 24, underwent two surgeries and spent three days in the intensive care unit at Elvis Presley Trauma Center.
Scott was injured while riding all-terrain vehicles with a friend, Steve McCoy, on a gravel road.
During the initial surgery, the doctors had to amputate his left arm just above the elbow, according to his wife, Jami Scott.
"They could have re-attached it, but it wouldn't be of any use," she said. "It would be dead weight."
