An unidentified man suffered injuries that police said did not appear to be life-threatening after he lost consciousness while driving, possibly because of a medical condition, and crashed into the woods at North Cape Park Tuesday, police said.

About 2:05 p.m., a black Nissan Titan pickup pulled southbound onto North Kingshighway from South County Park, but crossed into the median and continued southbound, police said.

The vehicle then swerved across northbound traffic and crashed into a wooded area in North County Park. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, police said.

Officers on the scene said the driver was unconscious when they arrived, but he soon regained consciousness and an ambulance transported him to the hospital, officials said.

The incident was still under investigation Tuesday afternoon.
