Man lives after slitting throat at Cape shopping center

A 23-year-old male employee of Boost Mobile, located in the Town Plaza, slit his throat in front of a coworker at about 1:30 p.m. Friday outside the store, according to police and witness accounts.

Cape Girardeau Sgt. Adam Glueck said the man was alive Friday afternoon after he was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center.

An employee at Vapor Maven, who did not wish to be named, called 911 after he was alerted by the coworker. He said he saw a razor blade in the man's right hand.

"There was an extreme amount of blood," the Vapor Maven employee said.
