Greene County Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Penland said it appeared Meadows was mowing when one of his back tires slipped off the edge of the cliff and the tractor started to roll. Meadows was crushed by the tractor.

"The area he was mowing in is a dangerous area to be mowing. You would really have to watch what you were doing," Penland said.

Officials with the sheriff's department and Logan-Rogersville Fire Protection District rappelled down the steep cliff and retrieved the body.
