MAN KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT

ANNA, Ill. -- Southern Illinois man was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning near the line between Union and Johnson counties.
William D. Messemore, 50, of Marion, Ill., was thrown from his vehicle after having failed to negotiate a turn in Highway 146, near Anna, Ill. His body was taken to Whitmore Funeral Home in Vienna, Ill.

The pickup truck overturned and Messemore was ejected, according to reports from the Illinois State Police. The accident happened at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, one half-mile from the Union County and Johnson County line.
A passenger, Leon Anderholt, 34, also was injured. He was taken to the Union County Hospital for treatment.
