A Cape Girardeau man is in custody on multiple charges after a traffic crash.
Cape Girardeau police arrested Ombreis D. Watson, 18, Tuesday evening after he fled the scene of a crash Monday, said Darin Hickey, public information officer for the department.
Hickey said a Cape Girardeau police officer noticed Watson driving erratically and signaled for him to pull over.
Watson, who was driving a gray 1999 Ford Crown Victoria, tried to flee but collided with two vehicles -- a 2007 Honda Accord and a 2007 Ford Ranger -- near the intersection of Independence Street and Rodney Drive, Hickey said.
"They went through the intersection, struck a vehicle, [and] Mr. Watson and another subject jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot," Hickey said.
The officer recognized Watson, who was arrested around 5 p.m. Tuesday at 710 Morgan Oak, No. 2, Hickey said.
No one was injured in the crash, he said.
A dog was in the Crown Victoria at the time of the accident. Hickey said nuisance-abatement officers took the animal to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
The car was towed from the scene, he said.
