SIKESTON -- Charges of first degree robbery and armed criminal action were filed against a Sikeston man for the robbery of an area restaurant.
Edward Lee Taylor, 18, stands accused of an Aug. 20 robbery at Hardees.
Police give this account: An armed man entered Hardee's at 1105 S. Main and approached the counter and demanded the money.
He handed an employee a plastic bag and told him to fill it with the money while the other two employees working at the time were forced to lie on the floor.
After the robbery he fled on foot.
Taylor was arrested Aug. 26 by Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers for a robbery that occurred at Pit Stop Aug. 22 involving two male suspects.
According to reports, the first suspect entered the store and approached the clerk. He ordered the clerk to give him all of the money in the cash register while the second suspect remained by the door. After the clerk surrendered the money, both men fled on foot.
Sikeston officers arrested James Ray Jennings on Aug. 24 in connection with the robbery at Pit Stop and charged him with robbery first degree and armed criminal action. Bond for both Jennings and Taylor was set at $200,000.
