NEW MADRID, Mo. -- A Sikeston, Missouri, man is scheduled to be arraigned today in New Madrid County Circuit Court before Judge Joshua D. Underwood on assault, property damage and weapon charges.
A probable-cause statement provided by New Madrid County Circuit Clerk Marsha Meatte Holiman states 26-year-old Parris M. Hill was arrested by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety after a disturbance July 31 at Bootheel Counseling Services.
Sikeston officer Casey Riddle stated he arrived at the scene and saw Hill lunge toward a man outside the building near the front door and push him backward. Hill then reached back and produced a revolver from his waistband.
At that point, Hill saw the patrol unit and began running after he was told to drop the weapon.
