Carl Boitnott, a painter from Cape Girardeau, was electrocuted Tuesday morning while working in Jackson, Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton said. Boitnott, 43, was working in the 300 block of West Main Street when he touched a high-voltage wire, Clifton said. Boitnott was painting the exterior of a building in the block, he said. The accident occurred about 9 a.m., Clifton said. Boitnott was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by assistant coroner David Taylor, Clifton said.
