A suspect arrested in Wednesday's robbery at a Cape Girardeau bank has been charged.
Jeron Mister, 30, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, has been charged with second-degree robbery, online court records show.
He is accused of stealing money from The Bank of Missouri at 3427 William St.
The money stolen in the robbery was recovered, according to a news release from the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Mister entered the bank Wednesday afternoon, approached the teller area and gave a note that said, "Give me money" to a bank employee, according to a probable-cause statement filed in the case.
The employee told police the suspect told her to hurry up or he would kill her, the statement said.
She said she gave him the money, which he put in his pockets, and he ran from the bank.
Police apprehended Mister about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at Doctors Park on South Mount Auburn Road.
After being advised of his Miranda rights at the police station, Mister admitted to robbing the bank, saying he wrote the note on a deposit slip he had requested, according to the statement.
No one was injured during the robbery. Sgt. Adam Glueck of the Cape Girardeau Police Department said the suspect "had his hand in his pocket as if he had a weapon," but no weapon was brandished.
Judge Gary Kamp set Mister's bond at $150,000 cash or surety.
No court date has been scheduled.
