An arraignment has been set for a Cape Girardeau man facing charges stemming from a domestic dispute in July.
According to the Cape Girardeau County circuit clerk's office, Benjamin C. Orwig, 36, of Cape Girardeau will appear in court Sept. 6. He was bound over to the circuit court during a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Orwig has been charged with second-degree assault, first-degree burglary, misdemeanor assault of a law enforcement officer, third-degree assault and resisting arrest.
According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department, on July 29 Orwig assaulted his girlfriend and another man and assaulted an officer as he was attempting to make an arrest.
