The man drove to the Senath City Hall and requested an ambulance because he felt the children were ill. Two emergency medical technicians from the Twin Rivers Hospital responded and were treating the children when their father got into the ambulance and drove off with one of the technicians inside.

The man stopped the ambulance and surrendered without incident after a short pursuit by authorities. The children and technician were not injured.

The man was taken to the Dunklin County jail.
