A 33-year-old Cape Girardeau man was arrested early Tuesday after a confrontation inside Schnucks.

A Schnucks employee called police about 2 a.m. Tuesday after seeing a couple arguing inside the store. Cape Girardeau police spokesman Darin Hickey said Brandon Wadlow allegedly struck another person with a cart and there were abrasions on the victim's hand.

Wadlow was charged with third-degree assault and stealing food. He remains in jail on a $3,500 cash-only bond.
