TROY, Mo. -- A 41-year-old Lincoln County man was in custody Monday after he allegedly handcuffed a 19-year-old to the rafters in a shed, beat her and sexually assaulted her on Sunday.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department said Robert Gnade of Troy knew the teenager and offered to give her a ride so she could pick up a medication at a pharmacy.
Officials said he took her to a shed on his parents' rural Lincoln County property, and that he told investigators he brought a duffel bag with him that held rope, sex toys and handcuffs.
He is accused of handcuffing the girl to the ceiling rafters and beating her with a belt, even telling her he would stop the beating if she agreed to have sex. He then raped her, investigators said.
"This is an especially egregious crime because it is associated with unimaginable brutality that goes far beyond just a sexual assault," Lincoln County Sheriff Dan Torres said in a news release.
Gnade was being held on $150,000 bond at the Lincoln County Jail. He is charged with forcible rape and felonious restraint.
