MALDEN'S JULY 4 EVENT TO FEATURE SEVEN PAGEANTS

MALDEN -- The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor seven pageants during the annual July 4 celebration in Malden.

The Tiny Miss Fourth of July pageant is open to girls 2 and 3 and the Little Miss pageant is open to girls 4 through kindergarten. They will be held June 25 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively The Junior Miss pageant for girls in grades 10 through 12 in the fall and the Miss Fourth of July Scholarship pageant will be held at 7 p.m. June 25. Entry fee for all four is $10.

The Petite Miss pageant open to girls in grades one through three in the fall will be held June 27 at 7 p.m. The Pre-Teen and Young Junior Miss pageants will follow. Pre-Teen contestants must be in grades four through six and Young Junior Miss contestants must be entering grades seven through nine in the fall. Entry fee for the Petite Miss competition is $15 and Pre-Teen and Young Junior Miss fees are $20.

The Miss Fourth of July Scholarship pageant is open to women between 17 and 24. They must never have been married and be enrolled in college or be a high school graduate entering college in the fall. The winner will compete in the June 1995 Miss Missouri Scholarship Pageant.
