BERNIE, Mo. -- The Stoddard County Sheriff's Department is reporting the arrest of a Malden, Mo., man accused of selling marijuana, the Dexter Daily Statesman reported.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department, the arrest came following information pointing to John David Matthews dealing drugs in the Bernie area. Following further investigation, arrangements were made to buy drugs from Matthews. He was arrested during the deal and about a quarter-pound of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized.
Matthews is charged with the felony of distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana) and the misdemeanor of possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $75,000 cash only, and he remained in jail Friday.
