SIKESTON - The first annual Make-A-Wish Foundation Invitational Martial Arts Tournament will be held Saturday at Sikeston.

The event, to be held in the Sikeston Field House, is sponsored by the Southeast Missouri Chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation, Moo Sul Kwan Martial Arts and the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce.

Registration for the tournament, which includes three divisions -- form, sparring and breaking -- starts at 8:30 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m.

The entry fee is $25 dollars in advance, or $30 at the door.

Cost of admissions will be $4 for adults and $2 for children. Children under the age of six will be admitted free.

There will be divisions for all ages, male and female, from four years to adult.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1978 at Phoenix, Ariz. The Southeast Missouri chapter was established almost four years ago.

The objective of the foundation is to grant wishes of children with life-threatening diseases. The organization says most wishes cost an average of about $3,200.
