MAKANDA, Ill. -- Makanda Fest '96 will be held May 10-12 in the historic Village of Makanda. MAKANDA, Ill. -- Makanda Fest '96 will be held May 10-12 in the historic Village of Makanda.
The arts, crafts and music festival will offer demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday of natural dyeing, wood carving, basket weaving, pioneer furniture making and others arts and crafts. Times for craft sales are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 11, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, May 12.
Performing May 10 during the evening will be Georgy Rock, Organic Rain and Mike Williams.

Performing May 11 will be Blue Heron, Free Radicals, Dorians, Jan Douglas, Natalie Withers and Rapture.
On May 12, entertainment will be provided by Natives, Rog & Bob, Carter & Connelley, Mr. Wonderful & the Magdaddies and Slappin' Henry Blue.
The Peacocks will play continuously in the craft area May 11.
