MAKANDA, Ill. -- The Makanda Boardwalk Association and Village of Makanda will hold Makanda Fest '95 Saturday and Sunday in downtown Makanda.
The seventh annual event will showcase artists from Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. All the handcrafts are selected by the association.
Demonstrations will be given in chair making, paper cutting, wood carving, basket weaving, quilting, clay sculpture, furniture building, metal forming, spinning, weaving, eraser printing, leather craft, sand art and other crafts.
The event will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 7 Sunday.
Music will be provided both days. Bluegrass, jazz, big band, Irish Celtic, country and folk music bands will play Saturday. Folk jazz, Civil War era, country and blues bands will play Sunday.
