Major Case Squad investigating shooting that left one dead in Cape

A person died early Sunday, July 14, after being shot in the 400 block of Broadway in Cape Girardeau, authorities said.

A release from the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad says the subject arrived at a local hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The person died a short time later.

Cape Girardeau Police Department officers determined where the crime scene was and secured the scene.

As of early Sunday morning, no suspect had been identified.
