The Main Street Opry will come to Cape Girardeau Feb. 23 for a special appearance sponsored by the Area Wide United Way and the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The Main Street Opry regularly performs at Lake of the Ozarks. Members of the band are Steve and Sarah West, "Gabby" and Sandy Gumm, Alicia West, Bobby Brown, Joe Hargrave and Joey Tennis.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the United Way for use in the Southeast Missouri area, said Rick Lambert of the United Way.

The opry will be held at the A.C. Brase Arena Building.

Advance tickets for the 2 p.m. performance are $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Prices at the door are $8 for adults and $5 for children.

They are on sale at Schnucks, CyberTel Cellular, Mercantile Banks in Sikeston and Perryville, the Cash Book Journal in Jackson, and the Chamber of Commerce offices in Anna and Jonesboro, Ill.
