The Main Street Opry will come to Cape Girardeau Sunday for a special performance that will benefit the Area Wide United Way.
Based in Lake of the Ozarks, Main Street Opry includes Steve and Sarah West and Gabby and Sandy Gumm. The four have been performing together since 1987.
Steve West performs on the banjo, mandolin and guitar as well as master of ceremonies. Sandy Gumm plays bass, and the entire group sings.
The West's daughter, Alicia Farrell-Peace, plays keyboard and synthesizers.
The other musicians complete the Main Street Opry; Bobby Brown on the fiddle, mandolin, banjo and guitar; Joe Hargrave on drums; and Joey Tennis on guitar and vocals.
The performance begins at 2 p.m. at the A.C. Brase Arena Building. Tickets are available at the door and in advance at Mercantile Banks in Perryville and Sikeston, Chamber of Commerce officers in Anna and Jonesboro, Ill., the Cash Book Journal in Jackson and Schnucks and Cybertel Cellular in Cape Girardeau.
