The editor of "Lyme Disease Update" will be the guest speaker when the Lyme Disease Self-Help Support Group meets tonight.

Charlene Glover will discuss her work with the publication and her experiences as a Lyme Disease patient. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Harrison Room at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Published in Evansville, Ind., "Lyme Disease Update" is a nationwide monthly publication which focuses on augmenting an awareness of Lyme Disease.

Featured in the October issue is an article on Cape Girardeau physician Edwin Masters, M.D., family practice. The article details how interests in tree farming and medicine sparked an interest in Lyme Disease in 1987 and ultimately led to his position today as one of the country's leading Lyme experts.

Support group coordinator Linda Wessel, registered nurse, said the meeting is open to Lyme Disease patients, their families and individuals who are interested in the tick-borne illness. Sponsors for the group are Southeast Missouri Hospital and IV Care.
