JACKSON -- Jack Knowlan and Tom Ludwig were the winners in elections for the Jackson Board of Education Tuesday.
Wendy Hayes and Gerald Adams also ran during the election.
Knowlan received 667 votes, about 23 percent of the returns.
Ludwig, a local lawyer and the only candidate who did not attend Jackson schools, received 612 votes, about 25 percent of the total votes.
"It was a real good campaign," said Ludwig.
"We had four real good candidates; it was just a pleasure to come out one of the winners."
Ludwig said he hopes to maintain what is good about the school district and push for improvements in other areas.
He said the district's growth needs to be maintained, as does the curriculum.
"I think we should try to expand in certain areas, like if at all possible, in the counselor area," he said.
With Tuesday's win, Jack Knowlan returns to the school district for a fifth term in office.
He said during his campaign that he hopes to continue projects already begun in the district, such as construction and improving transportation within the district.
Hayes and Adams received 553 and 561 votes, respectively.
