JACKSON -- A Loyalty Day ceremony will be held Sunday at the Memorial to Veterans of All Wars at Brookside Park in Jackson. It will begin at 1 p.m.
The Loyalty Day program has been held for many years, but this is the first time it will be at the new veterans memorial.
The welcome will be given by Mayor Paul W. Sander.
Opening remarks will be presented by Ian Sutherland, a veteran who now serves as an assistant Cape Girardeau Prosecuting Attorney.
Also speaking will be State Sen. Peter Kinder.
Byron Lang, a member of Jackson Memorial V.F.W. Post 10495, and Marilyn Nussbaum, a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, are in charge of arrangements.
Grace Wille, chairman of events at the Veterans Memorial, stated that flags will be flown on this occasion. Those attending should bring lawn chairs.
Wille said that persons wishing to schedule special events at the memorial can contact her at 243-5161.
