The program will explore ethical issues families and professionals face during the progression of Alzheimer's disease and give insight into the difficult decisions that accompany Alzheimer's disease. Issues include views on how our society views death and dying, when to tell someone about an AD diagnosis, when to prolong life through medical intervention and ethical concerns about genetic testing. The featured speaker is Stephen G. Post, Ph.D., associate professor at the Center for Biomedical Ethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

The program is free and open to the public. Registration is required by calling the Alzheimer's Association at (800) 980-9080 or The Southeast Missouri Institute of Gerontology at (573) 651-5194.
