LOCAL STUDENTS EARN SPOT ON STATEWIDE HONOR BAND

Eight Central High School students are among 120 high school students from Missouri who participated in the 1994 Missouri Senior Honor Band on the Southwest Missouri State University campus.

Tracy Guth, John Hearnes, Josh Lamar, Rebecca Lewis, Eric McGowen, Josh Miller, Blaine Otley and Kristen Werne, all of Cape Girardeau, were among students selected to perform in the 1994 band. They are members of the Central High School Band, under the direction of Ron Nall, Neil Casey and Mark Ellison.

Participating juniors and seniors were nominated by their high school band directors, and final selection was based on proven musical ability, citizenship and evaluations at camps and contests.
