A man accused of rubbing up against and exposing himself to a Schnuck's customer was arrested Tuesday when seen fleeing from the store with a stolen package of hot dogs. The man, Erich Montgomery, 22, of Cape Girardeau was arrested and charged with misdemeanor sexual misconduct, stealing and resisting arrest. A 43-year-old woman was shopping at the Cape Girardeau supermarket, at 19 S. Kingshighway, when she passed by a man who allegedly brushed against her, police spokesman Jason Selzer said. The suspect followed the woman and when he brushed up against her again, she saw he had done so with his exposed penis, Selzer said. The store manager called police, who arrived to find the suspect walking outside the store and eating from a package of Johnsonville beef hot links, Selzer said. The hot dogs were reported stolen from the store, he said. The suspect was arrested after a short foot chase. Montgomery's bond was set at $2,500.
