Laura Coalter of Cape Girardeau is one of 100 regional finalists in Kid Search '93.
The contest will award over $1 million in prizes including modeling contracts and college scholarships for children, ages newborn to 17. Coalter is 13.
Kid Search '93 is sponsored by Wilhelmina Models and JCPenney Portrait Studio.
Finalists were based 50 percent on personality and 50 percent on appearance.
As a regional finalist, Coalter won a portrait package and a chance for a personal interview with agents from the Wilhelmina Models agency.
The national finalists win an all-expense paid weekend for themselves and one parent in New York City.
Coalter attends L.J. Schultz School where she is a member of the student council and on the honor roll. She is a member of the St. Vincent Parish and has modeled for County Seat, Children's Bazaar and Zotos.
She is the daughter of Ted and Debbie Coalter of Cape Girardeau.
