Several local farmers are among winners of the Missouri Corn Growers Association's 2002 National Corn Yield Contest.
According to the National Corn Growers Association, 3,286 farmers from across the nation and 177 farmers from Missouri took part in this season's contest, which is sponsored by both the state and national corn organizations.
Top yields ranged from 215 to 442 bushels per acre.
Missouri winners in the National Corn Yield Contest will be recognized by MCGA at the Show-Me Ag Classic on Feb. 5-6 in Columbia, Mo.
Winners will also be recognized at the 2003 Commodity Classic, the annual combined convention and trade show of NCGA and the American Soybean Association, in late February.
