Denny's Diner at 161 West Drive in Cape Girardeau closed for business as of Wednesday, according to a sign on an exterior door.
WKS Restaurant Group, headquartered in Lakewood, California, owns 33 Denny's locations in six states, according to the company website, including the Cape Girardeau Denny's location.
The Cape Girardeau County Health Department last performed an inspection on the facility in December 2017, according to their online records.

The diner opened in spring 2001, according to the Southeast Missourian archives.
Requests for comment were not immediately returned by the WKS Restaurant Group office Thursday.
