The Unistar Corp., founded on July 4, 1992, is planning an open house and anniversary party beginning at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 4. The plant will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with the celebration beginning at 4 p.m.
Unistar, a multi-disciplined plastics processor, employs a customer-focused marketing strategy unique in the plastics industry.
The company operates several distinct plastics businesses, including custom thermoplastics compounding, custom sheet extrusion and contract manufacturing and distribution.
The business units are integrated to offer end use customers broad flexibility in cost effective material selection and specification.
Manufacturing operations began in January with two facilities located at the corners of Highway D and Highway 61 in Jackson. They currently have five plastics processing lines in production and approximately 30 full-time employees.
Unistar manufactures custom thermoplastic compounds in commodity as well as engineering grades, specializing precoloring and custom filler technology. Primary markets are automotive, electronics, consumer goods and custom molding and profile extrusion.
