Christmas
By Olivia Harline
Lighted houses,
Christmas trees,
Wrapped presents,
(Tons for me).
Children smiling,
Carolers singing,
Delicious aromas,
Sleigh bells ringing.
Christmas Eve
By Liza Williams
Christmas Eve is a wonderful day.
Christmas Eve is not here to stay.
It all comes and it all goes.
Everyone knows Santa's face will glow.
When there's a cookie there to share
Christmas Eve is everywhere.
Merry Christmas
By Wayne Wiggins
Christmas is everything,
Christmas is a joy!
That Santa guy was never seen,
But, he still gives you a toy.
This year I hope I get a lot,
And everything I want.
I'll get my mom I new pot,
And might even perform a stunt!
Christmas
By Chris Perkuhn
Christmas is the greatest time
When all the children are spending their dimes.
The snow is falling white as a ghost
And Santa is all the children's host.
The deer are flying in the sky
While grandmas are swatting flies.
Everyone is putting up Christmas trees
So have fun on Christmas Eve.
Frosty
By Rachel Pfanstiel
One Christmas Day, I was playing in the snow
How this happened, I'll never know
I rolled three balls and piled them up
I stuck on carrots for eyes and I heard, "Sup"?
I thought it was my twin, so I called out her name.
But then right behind me I heard, "Frosty's my name"!
I spun around to my snowman; my eyes almost popped out,
For there was Frosty short and stout.
Christmas
By Jason Gibson
Christmas is a time of joy.
Christmas is a time of love.
Christmas is a time of care.
Christmas is a time of being with family.
Christmas is a time of fun.
Christmas is a time of giving.
Christmas is a time of snow.
Christmas is a time of early mornings.
Christmas Day
By Kerri Churchill
Christmas cards,
lights in yards.
Green and red,
riding sleds.
Santa's Ho Ho Hos,
packages with bows.
Pageants and plays,
eggnog and sleighs.
All of these make Christmas Day.
Stressed Out Santa
By Rob Foeste
On Christmas eve Santa sat with his egg-nog
He was all stressed out cause the elves were on strike
So he rounded up the elves and promised them a raise
But he lied and one by one threw'm in his toy bag
He got on his sled and took off for town
Then he went in every house and put an elf in each stocking
After hours of stuffing he finally was done
He chuckled to himself 'Merry Christmas to all... and oh yeh you elves are FIRED!'
Christmas
By Travis Johnston
Christmas is a time of year
when people are bringing good cheer.
All the lights on the trees shinning bright
shinning bright all through the night.
Children out playing in the snow
wishing they had some money to blow.
Santa Claus is packing up toys
to take to all the girls and boys.
The Snowy Night
By Cody Kinder
I woke up in the night
with nothing to do.
I looked out the window
and saw something new.
The ground was all covered
snowy and white.
I could not wait
for a snowball fight.
I put on my coat
and went out the door,
and as I was playing
the snow came down more.
The streets were icy.
I started to slide,
but then my mom yelled,
"You get back inside!"
I went inside
without a doubt,
all covered in snow
so my mom said "Get out!"
I brushed off the snow
and went back in.
Tomorrow I'll try
to do it again.
The Awe of Winter
By Molly Hill
The time has come
For all to watch in awe
As the wonder in front of them
Builds to a paradise
A time for the people
To stop their labor
And watch in silence
As the small pieces of heaven
Descend to the ground
As the wonder of the sky
Unfolds before their eyes
As the winter takes its toll
On the people of the world
Everyone is peaceful
Everything silent
For we are inspired
by the wonder and beauty
of the sky.
Christmas Cheer
By Mike Dodd
Christmas is the best time of the year
Because everyone is spreading Christmas cheer
Christmas cheer is in the hearts of every girl and boy
Just hoping and waiting for that special toy.
Of course the tree is the center of all cheer
As family gathers round to decorate once a year
Young and old, boy and girl,
They come together to spread Christmas cheer.
Christmas Time
By Megan Ladd
Christmas is a time for happiness.
It brings families together.
It also brings presents and joy.
It reminds us that years ago,
Jesus was born to save us.
Most people look at just the presents,
But Christmas is much more.
Christmas is a time to be happy for what we already have,
instead of wanting more.
We should get into the right Christmas spirit,
and remember the true meaning of the season.
Winter Days
By Josh Ford
When I wake up on a Winter Day
all I see is white, and as
I rush to get my clothes on I
feel such happiness. That it is a
Winter Day. I kiss my mom, say
bye to dad and run outside
to get my sled, and as I walk
out of the garage I feel specks
of snow falling on me. And I
realize again that it is a
Winter Day. And when I find my
friends and go sleigh riding I
realize this is a Winter Day.
Dear Santa
By Jill Holloway
I want lots of candy.
I also want a doll named Mandy.
Can I please have a cat?
Oh, get my younger brother a bat.
Dad wants a fishing pole.
Mom wants a glass bowl.
Can you get my cat a toy mouse?
Please, please Santa come to my house!
Winter
By Heather Hobbs
When I think of winter I think of snow
Of kids screaming laughing, and having fun,
The kids sledding, making snowmen, and forts,
They are starting snowball fights, and wars.
Winter is a time when fires are glowing,
Families are cuddling close around it
It is when music is flowing and love is in the air,
Christmas decorations are going up and families are getting shopping done,
The kids are enjoying themselves because school is out!
Parents are having trouble with the kids,
They keep hoping that the kids go back to school soon,
Kids are sliding into trees, and into each other.
Christmas lights are shining bright on this night,
The snowflakes are landing on the kids' tongues and on their clothes,
It covers the trees and lies on the ground.
Christmas trees and stockings are being put up,
Ornaments are rolling along the dirty floor,
Presents are being wrapped and tossed under the tree,
That is when kids start wondering what they will be getting
The candy canes are starting to come out,
The kids are eating them until they are sick,
The parents are hustling to get the shopping finished.
When the shopping is all over, it is time to relax
They cuddle close together and watch the blazing fire,
The day is over it is time to go to bed.
That is what winter is all about, busy, cold, and fun.
Christmas Time is Almost Here
By Daniel Willingham
Christmas time is almost here,
The time when everyone's happy, and full of cheer.
It's the time when the weather gets cold,
And every item in each store is sold.
It's when everyone's nice,
And we enjoy sledding down snow and ice.
It's a time to be kind, it's a time for fun,
It's the time when everybody is on the run.
Remember to be happy and full of cheer,
Because Christmas time is almost here.
The Light on Christmas Eve
by Trever Duncan
Last year...
my memory is clear,
my brother looked up and gave a cheer!
Out on the deck,
I hurried to check,
just what was making Garrett a wreck.
He looked to the sky,
and asked me why
Santa's reindeer could fly?
Pointing up to the right,
he showed me the light
flashing and magnificently bright.
Visioning the red flashing nose pulling the pack,
I soon knew that it was an Air Evac.
With excitement he roared
as I silently prayed for the traveler aboard.
Happy Times
by Nichelle Randle
Summertime has come and gone,
The leaves are slowly falling.
Now it's time for winter to come
The winter's winds are calling.
One day you'll wake up and see snow
Then you'll look outside and see...
The children's faces will be shining
With happiness and joy.
You'll spend time with family and
friends. You'll think of your loved ones
The ones who have passed and the
ones who are still here.
You'll look back and see all the
times you spent together. Then all
your sorrow and laughter will
blend in together.
For Christmas is a holiday to
spend time together and share warn
and happy feelings. Even to show
special love.
Christmas
By Kody Neighbors
Christmas is the best day of the year,
Filled with happiness, laughter, and bundles of cheer.
The ground white and sparkling with snow,
And the frozen-over waters trying to flow.
The house is decorated with candles and lights,
It is such a beautiful sight.
On Christmas Eve we say good night,
We blow out the candles and turn out the lights.
The Christmas Story
By Erin Hildebrand
In a far away land, a long time ago;
was a man and his wife with no place to go.
They stopped at an inn;
and asked to come in.
The innkeeper had no rooms, so he wasn't able;
to offer a room, but offered a stable.
They went to the stable, they were tired and worn;
That night in the stable, their baby was born.
The wise men on camels came from afar;
They found baby Jesus by following a star.
Today we celebrate with family and friends.
We have so much fun, we don't want it to end.
We make out our list to buy this and that thing;
But we know the best gift given is Jesus the king.
Christmas
By Jake Fish
Christmas
A day of joy
A day of giving
A day that the Christ son was born
A day of happiness
A day that all shall rejoice
A day that all shall give thanks to the Lord
Christmas
Snow
By Liz Carr
I open the door, and
a cold gust of wind hits my face.
The street is filled with flashing lights.
Tiny snowflakes fall landing on my lashes.
You can hear people singing in the distance
There is a warm feeling inside me.
It is Christmas!!!
Three Haikus
By Brad Main
It's that time of year
the season winter has come
time for snow and ice.
Santa is coming
Christmas time is here again
fun for everyone.
The year will end soon
a time of new beginnings
a new year has come.
The Nutcracker
By Mike Gerber
Nutcracker oh nutcracker
You have broken your teeth on the big and rough nut.
Whatever should I do without you and your enormous white teeth?
What to do, what to do?
I could glue you together or have a mad scientist fuse you together.
I think Santa may do it but the shipping and handling is too much!
I could call all the king's horses and all the king's men,
surely they could put you together again.
Oh what's that, it is a nutcracker that is 50% off, and he is cute too!
Squirrel
By Katie Maginel
A little squirrel sits shivering in his tree,
His dark little eyes staring down at me.
He makes a chattering noise with his teeth,
And then promptly curls up under a leaf.
He looks so cute there in the snow,
His fur fluffing up because the wind does blow.
Then another squirrel seems to pop out of the tree,
And flies around it just like a bee.
He immediately wakes up the other one,
So they jump and play and run, run, run.
So the two little squirrels play for long hours,
While I go inside and dream about flowers.
Snowflakes
By Candless Zielinski
Oh white snowflake,
you are so white.
With all those sparkles,
you're so bright.
Winter is coming,
you already know.
Oh white snowflake,
have you begun to blow?
So now it's winter,
and you're really cold.
Well you haven't seen me,
my cheeks are really bold.
Christmas Time
By Jessica Stevens
It's Christmas Time!
It's Christmas Time!
Let's all go out and cheer.
Let's open up our presents,
And find out what is here.
Let's go! Let's go
to grandma's house,
And let's not give a sneer.
It's Christmas Time!
It's Christmas Time!
Let's all go out and cheer!
'Twas the Night After Christmas
By Caitlin Bahn
'Twas the night after Christmas
And all through the house
Every creature was stirring,
except the mouse.
The children were up, up and about
Playing with toys that Santa gave out.
With Pa in his tux, and I in my frock,
Were just stepping out for a dinner with
Mrs. Schmock.
When up in the playroom there arose
such a clatter,
We were sure the 'sitter would see to
the matter.
But our fear was great,
and we could not escape.
So we rushed up the stairwell,
Forgetting our meal,
To see what the opening door would reveal.
We arrived in the room
Our hearts filled with doom,
But the problem was clear,
It wasn't a fear!
One of our children,
Little Suzy at that.
Was trying to get my brown, leather hat.
"Let's stay home," I cried.
Then laughed so hard I could have died.
For nights like this, don't come often,
And for the rest of my heart had elation.
Someone Special
By Sara Broom
Winter time is here
The trees are bare
The air is frigid
When you step outside
You feel frostbitten from
the polar air
But you know when the
weather is freezing like this
and you hear those jingle
bells ringing that someone
special is coming
And that someone special
is Santa Claus.
Coca-Cola
By Matt Pyeatte
As I lie down to sleep,
I do not have a peep of complaints,
because it tis Christmas Eve,
and when I begin to fall asleep,
I dream of waking up and seein' Santa
All dressed in red to match his
frost bitten nose,
and who stands beside him but
the Coca-Cola bear,
white as the pillow I dream on,
and they both laugh at me as I
stare not believing...
Then I wake up... and no one's
there except me and the
Christmas tree lying by the fire.
Snow
By Stephanie Luckfelt
Winter season with lots of snow,
comes in a hurry, but goes away
so slow...
Little children get all bundled up to
go outside... to make snow angels
and snowmen.
But when all the fun is over and they come
inside... all they leave behind is messed
up footprints in the snow.
Christmas Night
By Ray Fambro
It is Christmas Eve at night
Everyone is asleep without one fright
Suddenly the sound of sleigh bells are ringing
The Christmas carolers are still singing
Ho! Ho! Ho! yells Santa Claus
That changed the minds of kids who believed he was false.
The reindeer' feet crashed on top of the house
But the sound didn't wake anybody, not even a mouse.
Winter
By Michelle McGuire
Winter is coming.
Snow will be falling.
The weather is getting colder.
The wind is starting to blow harder.
Snow is starting to fall.
It covers the ground and all.
Winter is here.
Christmas
By Kelly Strohmayer
What is Christmas?
Christmas is:
families having fun in the snow
children opening presents
big, beautiful, decorated trees
warm, cozy fires
eating big dinners
seeing family and friends
That is Christmas!
Christmas Time
By Megan Luttrell
Christmas Christmas the joy of
the years. It's a time to celebrate
and have a chat with your peers.
I know Santa is near and Christmas
will soon be hear.
I woke up one morning and ran to
the stairs, forgetting what could be
lurking down there.
I ran down the stairs one foot
after another. It's a good thing my
brothers and sisters weren't up or
we would be pushing each other.
I raised up the shade and the
light poured in. I rubbed my eyes
and scratched my chin.
I looked outside and there was
snow on the ground. Then I looked
under the tree and there were
presents all around.
Christmas time was surely here,
full of joy and full of cheer.
I looked at the Polaroid we set
up the night before. And right
beside it was a picture of Santa
laying presents on the floor.
Christmas
By Ashley Evans
Christmas is a fun time of the year,
With all the elves with those long long ears.
They make all our presents big and small,
They work every year to make them all.
They take each letter and check it twice,
They will see if you're naughty or nice.
Santa Claus will go to house to house,
He will be as quiet as a mouse.
Winter Holiday
By Jonathan Beattie
Many snowflakes will fall
on the roof tops and all.
Children will sing
while silver bells ring.
Houses will glow
with a wreath and mistletoe.
Listen, for the clock will tick
as we all wait for good Ole St. Nick.
Christmas

Christmas is a great time of the year
Filled with holiday joy and cheer
There is snow all over the ground
When Christmas come around.
Christmas -- the greatest time of the year
Filled with holiday joy and cheer
There is a great feeling in the air
In this time of giving and care.
Christmas is an incredible time of the year
Filled with holiday joy and cheer
Many snowflakes are falling down
An incredible feeling comes over the town
When Christmas comes around.
Oh Christmas
By Dwaun Thiele
December is the month
to remember. Showers of gifts
from Santa, friends, and family.
Those special things you love,
waking up and just looking
at the tree. Your house smelling
like cinnamon. The snow before
anyone has touched it. Touring
to see the lights on every street
in town. With all these wonderful
things happening in one month
it's no wonder December's the
month to remember.
January
By Amy Brown
"And now let us welcome the New Year
Full of things that have never been..."
I always think of January fo new
beginnings and cherished memories.
Come, let winter make her mark: cold, crisp,
dark winters with savory dinners,
lively conversations, or solitary joys.
Outside temperature drops as the snow
falls softly. All of nature is at peace.
So should we be.
This is the month of dream, to look
forward to the year ahead and the
journey within.
Christmas Time
By Lisa Crain
I love it when there is snow
For all that I know,
Santa will soon be here,
with all his holiday cheer.
We will decorate the Christmas tree,
with eyes full of glee.
As Christmas end nears
I hope you have a
Happy New Year.
Winter
By Diana Wilke
It's a cold, dark, dreary day
But people see through it with
hope and praise
They know it's winter since
the days are so cold
That soon the snow will fall
But not then, not then is it
Christmas
They will know that when
lights are hung with trees aglow
That Christmas is here to bring
to everyone its hope and cheer.
Ol' St. Nick
By Destiny Culver
A beard as white as fallen snow.
A face as merry, full of glow.
He sits at his throne, full of gold.
A man of age, he never grows old.
Children fear they might be missed.
Though many a time, he checks his list.
Watching the sky, you must be quick.
A flash of red, it's Ol' St. Nick.
