One Red Light
By Steven Beecraft
Everytime Christmas is near,
Jingle bells is what I hear.
This is what I like to see,
This is what Christmas means to me.
Stockings, holly, mistletoe,
Wreaths, tinsel, and some snow.
A baby boy, an angel's light,
Shepherds following a star so bright.
Santa comes on Christmas night.
Using only one red light.
Christmas Day is Coming
By Corey Bowman
The temperature is falling
like the snow that will soon be here,
The Christmas lights are shining bright
on houses far and near,
Presents are being placed underneath the tree
with anticipation of what they might be,
Now if I can give my brother away
Christmas will be a wonderful day.
The Story of Christmas
by Dana Williams
Christmas is a time of joy,
The story starts with a baby boy.
His name is Jesus or Emmanuel,
His coming, the Bible did tell.
Lying in a manger was he,
And shepherds came to see the baby.
Shepherds and cattle gathered round,
As the newborn baby made his first sound.
People started to rejoice and sing,
For born that day was a King.
As the boy grew,
He knew what he had to do.
Christmas
By Paul York
It was a week before Christmas vacation.
I couldn't wait to unwrap my Sony Playstation.
We put the decorations and lights on the tree.
I hope the biggest present is for me.
On Christmas Day I woke up in awe.
I couldn't believe what I saw.
Underneath the Christmas tree,
There were lots of presents just for me.
Crash!
By Colin McLain
Santa just fell right off the roof,
Kicked by a hard reindeer hoof.
He lies in the snow
What's wrong I don't know
Has he come to harm?
Did he break his arm?
He's really okay and out a-larking
But now he gets handicap parking.
Christmas
By Felicia Jenkins
Decorations, ornaments, and Christmas lights
Carolers singing "Silent Night"
Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts
Drinking hot chocolate and watching snow drifts
We hang the mistletoe and the holly
It seems like everyone is so jolly
Then Christmas Day is finally here
Everyone is happy and sincere
Presents, presents, all day long
Then we lift our voices in song
And when Christmas is over and done
A brand new year has just begun.
Christmas Is A Happy Time
By Aaron Dohogne
Christmas is the time
For caroling in the night.
As Christmas trees shine
And sleigh bells chime,
Children sing merrily
Carols in the night.
And Santa begins to load his sleigh
With all the gifts he'll bring our way.
Christmas Lights
By Danielle Cardwell
They glimmer and gleam.
Am I in a dream?
They shine so bright
All through the night
In Hutson's window there are the lights
That are such a pretty sight.
Once again I look,
And wonder just how long it took.
Oh the wonder of Christmas lights
That shine so bright all through the night!
A Winter Day
By Carrie Golden
Winter days are filled with joy,
for every girl and every boy.
The feeling of waking up,
Waiting for a cocoa-filled cup.
The news saying, "Cape Public's out,"
It makes children scream and shout.
They dash to their closets to bundle up
Then flee to grab their dogs and pups
They hurry to the nearest hill
Everything and everywhere the silence
makes it still.
The day was just too cold,
But to their amazement, there was no snow!
Let's Fool Santa
By Eric Johnson
Santa Claus comes once a year
With his eight tiny reindeer.
He checks to see if I'm naughty or nice
Not just once, but twice!
Maybe this year I'll pull a trick
And play like I am sick!
He'll feel sorry, just wait and see,
And bring presents just for me!!!
Putting Up The Christmas Tree
By Michael Lilly
Every year my dad has a battle
The Christmas tree is to blame
First it gets stuck in the doorway
and refuses to be tamed
Finally it stands for a minute
then it falls over again
Maybe we should get a fake one.
Christmas Time
By Lauren Hawkins
Stockings hung on the mantel once bare
Presents stuffed in them with special care
My presents are hidden though I don't know where
All eyes are fixed upon the tinsel's bright glare
Christmas is a time to share
Giving gifts is not at all rare
Out the foggy window, the children all stare
Awaiting the arrival of their new teddy bears.

Christmas is a time of joy
When a kid gets his favorite toy
People gather from far and near
To spread good will and Christmas cheer
Loved ones kiss under the mistletoe
And little Bobby gets his G.I. Joe
We all gather to sing one more song
I wish the holidays could last all year long.
Christmas Is Coming
By Ryan Gerecke
Christmas is coming and I'm so glad,
Because this year I have been good, not bad.
There are many large presents under our tree,
Some for my brother and some for me.
The lights are wrapped around the tree,
From top to bottom, that's all you see.
The star is on top, the tree skirt is down
We're ready for Christmas to come around.
Christmas Is...
By Lindsey Pfanstiel
Christmas is a time for happy things
Joy, presents, and an evergreen tree
Christmas is a starry cold night
When Christ was born to bring us light
Christmas is old Santa Claus
On top of my house his reindeer pause
He climbs down the chimney with a bag of gifts
He leaves my house as darkness lifts
Christmas is a time for giving
Generosity ensures happy living
Christmas is a time for many things
The joy of Christ is what rings.
The Special Night
By Melissa Hobbs
When Jesus was born
it was a sight.
Everyone has heard about
that special night.
Shepherds came from all around.
Even the angels came down to the ground.
That holy babe was wrapped nice and warm.
Nestled neatly in his mother's arms.
I still know about that wonderful night.
Since it was such a beautiful sight.
Merry Christmas
By Sara Burns
It's Christmas time once more.
Get ready for friends to come marching in the door.
Packages and presents, stockings and trees,
Little children praying down on their knees.
Shopping trips and Santa Claus wishlists everywhere you look.
It's so relaxing just to read a book.
Through all the commotion it's very nice to know,
That somewhere there's a little child having fun in the snow.
So as you're getting ready for bed,
Please take the time and nod your head,
And give thanks for the baby who came long ago on this night,
Hoping to turn all of our wrongs into rights.
Christmas
By Stephanie Jordan
Christmas is the time of year
when everybody gathers near
Singing carols 'neath the tree
when in Bethlehem you could see
A tiny infant born that day
to teach the world a new way
Of living life to its extent
'till on the cross His shoulders bent
He died for you
He died for me
2000 years ago on that tree.
What Is Christmas About
By Joy Johnson
No one knew the birth of a baby boy
To the world could bring such joy
In a manger he was lain
Only later to be slain
On that day God sent his Son
Jesus Christ the Holy One
The angels said "Peace on earth"
And now we celebrate his birth
About his birth we sing and shout
That's what Christmas is all about.
Live A Little Christmas
By Carly Pind
Live a little, dance a little at
those Christmas Eve parties.
Treat yourself to a dessert
or two that starlit night.
Block away your contemptuous
differences against that hard-headed loved one.
Enjoy those somewhat aggravating carols
when they seem to play continuously.
Decorate that tree with a little
pizzazz this year.
Sit and watch those glistening wonders fall,
before trudging to that snow shovel.
Wish upon that star
that seems to catch your eye.
Lack the worries of every day life,
and enjoy the senses of Christmas.
Christmas
By Sara Hazlett
The wind blowing
through my hair.
The bare trees
This tells us winter
is coming soon
The snow has fallen
and glistens at the sight.
As I walk, it crunches
beneath my feet.
Christmas is arriving
and Santa is coming
This is the time for
love, joy, and hope
But yet shouldn't every day
be Christmas?
Winter In My Eyes!
By Chene Aldridge
A big round circle shining bright
blinding me with its morning light.
When the sun lays down to reset
and the moon wakes up to shine its best.
I lie in front of the Christmas tree
waiting for Santa to come get me.
To soar the skies and spread good cheer.
That's Christmas through my eyes!
Sounds of Christmas
By Cheri Churchill
Click! Clack! The sound of the
hooves of horses pulling a horse-drawn sleigh
Ha! Ha! Yeah! The sound of kids' voices
high above other sounds
Ding! Dong! The sound of church
bells announcing the Christmas service
As you can see, the sounds
of Christmas fill the air.
Merry Christmas
By Meghan Shell
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year.
It brings happiness and cheer.
The beautiful decorations put smiles on everyone's face.
From the Christmas lights all the way to the Christmas tree lace.
Christmas morning is the best, when
you see all your wonderful things from Santa.
You also get to see the gleaming
white snow all over the trees.
Those are some of my favorite things
about the holiday season.
Christmas really is the most
wonderful time of the year.
The Holidays
By Allison Campbell
Turkey day is done
December has begun
Rushing to get our shopping done
Parents pushing through the mall
Kids waiting for Santa to call
Before we know it, Christmas has come
Before we know it, Christmas is done
The new year has begun.
Christmas Time
By Erik Miller
Christmas is finally here.
Bringing lots of fun and cheer.
I hope Santa can fit through my door.
I heard is waist size is a 64!
I smell cookies and cakes a-baking.
Soon they will be mine for the taking.
I hope I get at least one present.
Cause I've really tried to be good this year.

Christmases come and go
but the ones I love
are the ones spent at home
Christmases come and go

Winter and Christmas
By Chris Davis
Winter is when snow falls.
People scatter to stores for shovels,
Food, warm clothes, and quilts.
The snow gets thick and packed.
The ice gets slick and slushy.
Winter is also the time for Christmas.
Christmas is time for decorations,
Gifts, and warm fires.
